SUMMARY:Madoodiswan (Spirit Lodge) Teaching Workshop in Killaloe
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to accommodate the many requests from our member
 s to conduct a Sweatlodge Ceremony for the newly emerging initiates and th
 e seasoned initiates alike for a deeply meaningful spiritual purification 
 and healing ceremony.\n\nGuided and facilitated by Knowledge-Keeper\, Sonn
 y Robins and Fire-Keeper\, Randy Mask. Graciously hosted by Kokom Annie on
  the unceded Algonquin Territory natural beautiful land she calls home. Ch
 i mi’gwech for sharing the teachings\, medicines and gifts with us!\n\nT
 he Madoodiswan (Spirit Lodge) Teaching workshop—more commonly known as t
 he “Sweat Lodge Ceremony”—will provide an opportunity to directly pa
 rticipate in the teachings of harvesting the ‘’Grandfathers’’ rock
 s (Mishomis) and Cedar (Kìjik)—our Relations from the natural world\, t
 hrough the wisdom of our Ancestral oral traditional knowledge. Participant
 s will develop an increased understanding while obtaining information to a
 ssist in providing culturally competent and proficient care as Helpers und
 er the tutelage of our Elders and the Spirit World.\n\nThrough the experie
 ntial learning of this traditional Rite of Passage\, the full-day Madoodis
 wan Teaching workshop will provide these spiritual practices that were pre
 viously denied to many of our Ancestors and their descendants\, but thankf
 ully not all\, through Indian Act policies. We continue to preserve and sa
 feguard these sacred teachings and ceremonies our health and well being fo
 r generations to come.\n\nWhat Participants Should Bring/Know:\n\nMust be 
 clear of alcohol and/or substance use for three days\n\nWomen on their moo
 n time are not permitted to take part in this workshop\n\nWomen: a light c
 otton shirt/T-shirt &amp\; long skirt\; or long nightgown\n\nMen: cotton-b
 lend shorts\, cotton T-shirt\n\nA towel\n\nJewelry and metals should not b
 e worn\n\nFeast kit bundle\; Single portion of favourite dish to share in 
 Potluck Feast\; Water Bottle\; Chair\; Dress for weather.
