Nenaawateg: Bridging Cultures and Reconciliation Throughout Renfrew County

For generations, Indigenous communities have gathered in circles. In the unceded territory of Renfrew County, a new circle has formed: Nenaawateg!

Meaning “a hub” or “the centre of a network” in Algonquin, Nenaawateg is an Indigenous-led initiative dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for Indigenous people to gather, reclaim their cultural heritage, and educate the broader community about Indigenous traditions and contemporary issues.
