We are pleased to accommodate the many requests from our members to conduct a Sweatlodge Ceremony for the newly emerging initiates and the seasoned initiates alike for a deeply meaningful spiritual purification and healing ceremony.
Guided and facilitated by Knowledge-Keeper, Sonny Robins and Fire-Keeper, Randy Mask. Graciously hosted by Kokom Annie on the unceded Algonquin Territory natural beautiful land she calls home. Chi mi’gwech for sharing the teachings, medicines and gifts with us!
The Madoodiswan (Spirit Lodge) Teaching workshop—more commonly known as the “Sweat Lodge Ceremony”—will provide an opportunity to directly participate in the teachings of harvesting the ‘’Grandfathers’’ rocks (Mishomis) and Cedar (Kìjik)—our Relations from the natural world, through the wisdom of our Ancestral oral traditional knowledge. Participants will develop an increased understanding while obtaining information to assist in providing culturally competent and proficient care as Helpers under the tutelage of our Elders and the Spirit World.
Through the experiential learning of this traditional Rite of Passage, the full-day Madoodiswan Teaching workshop will provide these spiritual practices that were previously denied to many of our Ancestors and their descendants, but thankfully not all, through Indian Act policies. We continue to preserve and safeguard these sacred teachings and ceremonies our health and well being for generations to come.
